Wrather Family Updates - Sorry it's been so long!

I have not been doing a great job keeping up with our blog. I have a number of pictures I've been meaning to upload. I just put them all on here at once. We have been busy this month. The pictures are pretty random and cover the whole month to date.

First of all there is a new park in our development. Rich took some great pictures of Drew playing on the playground there. Drew feels the playground belongs to him. Therefore every time we drive past it on our way out of the development he tells us "there's Dew's paygound".

We have spent some time visiting the various grandparents lately. The only pictures missing are from when we have visited with Rich's parents. I will post some with them very soon.

Tomorrow is Rich's birthday (big 35)and his mom and step dad are going to eat with us at PF Changs for dinner. I will capture some pictures from his dinner and post them later this week.

My dads birthday was Tuesday and since Rich's birthday is Thursday (tomorrow), we are having a birthday dinner for both of them together on Saturday at my parents house.

Drew is learning how to drive his tractor. It's motorized. Nathan -his friend next door, showed him how it works. After he saw Nathan do it, he decided it was ok and drove it too. He's not the best driver. I'm a little worried for when he turns 16. I think everyone will need warning to watch out when he's on the road.
The neighbors also have a baby who is Kai's age. That's his girlfriend. Her name is Natalie.

Kai had his 6 month checkup on Monday. That's right, he's 6 months old. And yes, he weighs 20 pounds. Imagine my surprise when they told me he is only in the 78% for weight! I wondered how it is possible that 22% of babies are bigger than he is!!! He is a long one too. He is in the 94% for length. He's healthy and doing great. He's meeting all of his milestones. And if I do say so myself, he's pretty darn cute. :)

Tonight Kai was on the floor trying so hard to "get" the dog and put her in his mouth. But he was unsuccessful. He looked up in time to see me take his picture while he was trying to get a hold of Kassie (Dog).

Well.... that's all for now. I need to go watch Lost.

Sassy Glassy

Blake got glasses today. For the first time in his life he will be wearing glasses. Originally (about 2 weeks ago when he first found out he needed glasses) he was not happy about it. But today he's dealing with it pretty well. He was worried the girls wouldn't think he was cute anymore. However he has nothing to worry about, he is very handsome with glasses.

Bite Me!

Kai's got 2 teeth! They both started coming in within a day of each other on the bottom middle. I tried to take a picture of them, which was a little bit difficult since his tongue and lip kept getting in my way. But I managed to get a semi-good picture of them. You can at least see the white spots where the teeth are, it's just a little bit blurry. He's had a temperature recently which I think was because of these teeth. But other than that, he's been ok. They started coming in at the tail end of his sick spell. So far he's bitten a few people - even Drew.

Kai is Standing - or is He???

Ok.... I posed him in that standing position for those pictures. He only stood there for 5 seconds before he fell. But that counts right? And don't worry, I caught him every time he fell. :)

One Sick Little Baby.....

Kai is a very happy baby and through this bout with bronchiolitis, he's still as happy as he can possibly be. His dr. office told us to take him to Childrens Urgent Care in Reynoldsburg, so we did that on Monday night. Then today I took him to his pediatrician to follow up. He has this nasty upper respiratory infection going on that makes him wheeze. If that's not bad enough, he can't seem to breathe and take a bottle at the same time very well, so he's not up to what he should be on his liquids. He is starting to lose his voice too. But he smiles and laughs through all of this. I wish I could be like that when I'm sick! Even though he's not feeling well, he managed to show off for the camera a little bit tonight. Here is a picture of him. Did I forget to mention that Kai - my 5 month old - is standing up now? ;)

Drew at Goddard

Today was Drew's Valentine's Day party at Goddard. I went and snapped a few pictures because this is also his last week in this particular class. On Monday he moves into the 2.5 year old class. He will hopefully be working more on potty training in this classroom. He has had 2 great teachers for the last 7 months. I hope the next teachers are as good. He had a great time at his party this afternoon. Here are a few pictures from that. The boy that is in a red jacket in several of these pictures is Drew's buddy Nathan. He also lives next door to us. The teachers (Ms. Jessica and Ms. Julie) were nice enough to let me take their pictures with Drew today since he is moving out of their classroom.
